PRESIDENT RECEIVED THE AMBASSADOR OF INDIA SURESH BABU
President Serzh Sargsyan received today the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Armenia Suresh Babu who is concluding his mission in our country. The President thanked Ambassador Babu for his active and efficient work in the three years of his tenure and highly praised the Ambassador's contribution to the strengthening and development of the Armenian-Indian relations. The interlocutors noted with satisfaction that in recent years the agenda of the Armenian-Indian bilateral cooperation has expanded, encompassing a number of areas of mutual interest, and considering the existing great potential, they have pre-set new prospective areas of cooperation which both sides are working to implement.
The President of Armenia and Ambassador Babu stressed the importance of the efficient intergovernmental and interparliamentary contacts and cooperation of the two countries in the framework of international organizations. The President of Armenia expressed gratitude to the government of India for its continuously balanced position on the issues which are sensitive for Armenia.
Ambassador Suresh Babu stressed the importance of developing cooperation with Armenia as a member of the Eurasian Union considering the fact that India is interested in establishing a free trade zone with the Eurasian Union and in the works toward that end.
The President of Armenia wished all the best to Suresh Babu in his future activities and expressed hope that the next Ambassador of India to our country will also carry out the diplomatic mission with dedication and energy.
Ambassador Suresh Babu expressed gratitude to President of Serzh Sargsyan for the high assessment of his work and for the cooperation and assistance during his tenure in office.
